I don't know about you, but this momma gets a little stir-crazy and bored with being in the house all day sometimes. When, Luke got home from the hospital, he was instructed not to have outside play for 2 weeks. 2 weeks...that's an eternity to a 3-year-old! (and his mom!) So, in an effort to be creative and let the boys have some fun, I tried something new. Jack loves to splash and play in the water, and Luke has always enjoyed water toys. So, I brought the water fun inside. I gathered a bunch of beach towels, bowls of water and water toys, and put them on the kitchen floor. "Have fun, boys!".
It worked so well and was so fun...for about 1.5 minutes. Then, it went downhill from there. Picture Jack tumping every bowl of water out ALL OVER the towels and the tile floor, then Luke getting VERY frustrated and angry that Jack was stealing his water, then Jack throwing a fit that there were no more bowls of water, then Momma thinking he might do better next time (I know you're thinking I'm quite the genius!), then refilling their bowls of water, then the cycle starting all over again. It was just awful.
Hmmm...this looks fun...

...but I think I'll opt to use my mouth to play instead of the water!

Not sure about that water on the face...

It's working so well...great idea, Momma!

...and then, the craziness begins!

This is NOT the look of innocence!

This is what I wanted to do, too, Macie. Hide under the chair and watch it all happen!

The scene afterward (which, by the way, doesn't even show the huge puddles of water ALL OVER the kitchen floor, plus a screaming child in time out because of his excessive frustration toward his little brother, plus a SOAKING WET baby!)...a whopping 5 minutes of fun, but 15 minutes of cleanup + 2 loads of laundry! That didn't add up quite right!

Oh, well! Good try, Momma!
