Disneyland 2011

We hadn't been to Southern California since last August for my mom's surprise birthday. A visit was definitely overdue. Of course, we had to hit up Disneyland! Luke is at a perfect age for it, and Jack is at a great age for it, too. We ended up going twice: once for a day trip, and once at night for fireworks and a few rides. Both trips were so much fun, but I only got pictures of our day trip.

We ate lunch at a really neat barbeque restaurant in the park. After we ate, a band started playing on the stage and invited the kids to come up there with them. Luke, of course, refused. Jack, of course, was one of the first ones up there. But, you can see that what he did almost the entire time was observe and play with his shirt.
I love it. He's looking at us like, "Why am I up here again?"

Their favorite ride every time we go is the "It's a Small World" boat ride. Jack was enthralled, as you can see from the pics below:
Just loved Luke's genuine happiness in this one:
Entering the cave. Look at that sweet profile!
There is so much to look at in every direction. Even way up high:
Luke's favorite ride.

These next few of Jack are some of my favorites. I just love his droopy cheeks at blue eyes.

Jack fell asleep in the stroller, and Luke had been asking to ride a real submarine. So, Greg and I waited in a very long line with him to ride the Finding Nemo submarine ride. I was not a huge fan...felt a but claustrophobic. But, Luke enjoyed it, which is what mattered.

Pluto is one of the few Disney characters that Jack notices and mentions. So, when he was out, we had to meet him! Jack was not shy at all...just walked right up to him and gave him a hug!

Luke and Nana rode a rollercoaster together. They are on the first car. It was actually a fast ride. He looked terrified while on it, but ended up loving it.
Before leaving, we had t0 ride the teacups. Well, they had to ride the teacups...a little much spinning for this pregnant momma.

The boys did so well and loved it all. I appreciate that they enjoy taking risks and doing new things so much. One of the highlights was hearing Jack say, "That made me feel so happy!" right after he got off the Dumbo ride with Bapa. Experiences like this are one hundred times better when you see it through a child's eyes. Thanks for such fun memories, Nana and Bapa!
