Neighbors

When we moved to Rockwall last July, we needed to find a rent house because our house was still on the market in Tyler. We found one that we really liked, only to find out that someone had JUST filled out papers to rent it out before us. I was discouraged, but my faithful husband said, "It's okay, Alissa. That just means that God has something better for us."

Well, it was true. Not hours after, the house we are currently living in came up on Craigslist, and it was perfect. Not only was it a 4-bedroom (MUCH better for us!), but it is also less than a block from the lake. But, the biggest blessing that God had in store for us was our sweet next-door neighbors, the McGrew's.

Aaron and Haley also have two little boys, Landon and Reid, who are also 21 months apart. They are 6 months younger than Luke and Jack. Haley also stays at home, so we have been able to have so many playdates. Usually, our boys end up just playing in each others' driveways and back yards in the evening. I've always dreamed of neighbors like that where my kids could just feel welcome playing in their yard and vice versa. I'm telling you...they are dream neighbors! Greg used to call us his greeting committee, because we would be outside every evening when he got home, and he loves getting swarmed by 4 little boys once he opens his car door. Haley has also become my running partner and one of my closest friends. We have talked about E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G while running! We are so blessed to know this sweet family, and are thankful for God's sovereignty in placing us here!

Their house is on the market, though...we are tempted to sabotage any house contracts that might come about! Ha! But, we really want what's best for them, and we know that we will remain close friends no matter where we live!

I grabbed my camera for one of our usual evenings playing in the driveway. I love catching everyday moments like this!

Aaron and Landon (or "Yandon", in Luke language)
Baby Reid...he's become a walking little toddler since this pic!
Silly Luke
Jack and Haley (or " Miss Ha-wee", in Luke language) Jack loves Aaron and Haley, and I can tell his is so comfortable around them. (I'm also thankful for the times that I've needed someone to watch the boys...Haley has come to the rescue many times!)
Luke and Landon digging

We had them over for dinner the other night, and they stayed awhile to play the Wii with us. Here are sweet buddies Landon and Luke in their jammies. I couldn't choose just one of these pictures, so I posted all five of them! They are precious!

You just brought tears to my eyes! We feel the same way and are so blessed that God placed you here! I know all 4 of these boys are going to be great buddies as they grow up!

So sweet! I'm glad you guys have each other as neighbors. But...I'm not sure how Haley will feel about everything now since you posted a picture of her in her shorts :)
