5 Years!

July 30, 2005 was the 2nd best day of my life. (2nd, of course to July 27, 1986...the day I trusted Christ and my salvation was sealed!) I married Gregory Mark...the man of my dreams. I knew there was something special about him the first time I saw him smile while he was driving up to Pine Cove for orientation on May 23, 2003. Our friendship was instant, and we were dating by the end of the summer. There is no better way to meet and fall in love with a man than to serve side-by-side with him.

Fast forward to December 18, 2006. Greg brought me back to Crier Creek and proposed. That was an awesome day.

Fast forward again to July 30, 2005 in Plano, Texas. Our prayer was the God would be glorified through our wedding day. He most certainly was, and we had the most perfect wedding day. In fact, everything about the wedding was fun...the planning, preparing, praying, pre-marital counseling...I would do it all over again! One amazing God-story was that our singer, who is a dear friend of mine and has the most beautiful voice, randomly got really hoarse the night before. I didn't even know about it. But, she prayed all through the night that she would be able to sing, yet she still sounded rough in the morning. But, God miraculously healed her voice that afternoon, and her music was absolutely breath-taking. In fact, several at our wedding said, "I could sense the Holy Spirit in that place the moment Becky started singing 'Agnus Dei' right before you walked down the aisle." Praise God!

I am so thankful for the goodness of God in giving us marriage. I am so thankful for the way our personalities just fit. I am so thankful for a husband who's priorities are in line - 1. God 2. Us 3. Luke & Jack. I am so thankful for a husband who makes me laugh. I am so thankful for allowing God to grow us closer to Him and each other through the rough patches in our marriage. I am so thankful that I have learned more about myself these last 5 years than ever before. I am so thankful for a husband who is passionate about serving others. I am so thankful for God's grace in blessing me with the best 5 years of my life.

If you've been reading my blog, we were able to have an early anniversary celebration in Santa Monica. But, we still wanted to do something special on the actual anniversary, so we loaded up our boys and headed to Frisco for a fun weekend. (Thanks, Priceline, for the cheap hotel!) We just played at the hotel and the mall, and we also ate at some pretty fun places. I loved spending the weekend with all 3 of my boys. It's amazing to look at the boys and see how God has blessed us since we were married. Here are a couple of cute pics of the boys from the hotel.

Watching a little video together...check out Jack's cutie legs! They are actually quite a bit thinner now than they were in this picture!

Happy boy. He's like his momma...he LOVES hotels. His favorite part was riding the elevator to our floor, and laughing at the voice in the elevator speaker that said, "Fourth floor". He really got a kick out of that!
Greg knew that I had been looking for a green purse. This was my anniversary gift. He's so thoughtful. I love it.
Happy anniversary, Greg. I love you, and I always will.
