Humpty Be Nimble

Scarlett has been one of my best friends since FIRST GRADE! I can remember playing school in her garage, riding bikes down the trails in her neighborhood, drinking "cherry water" and eating crackers at her clubhouse and swimming in my backyard as kids. Then, we played on the tennis team together and shared many of the same classes in high school. It was then that we decided to be roommates at A&M together...all FOUR years. The girl knows me inside and out! I'm so thankful for friends that know you so intimately, yet love you despite your shortcomings! She saw me through the joys, heartbreaks and confusion that the college years brought. I love her!

She married her high school sweetheart, Chris, and they moved back to Rockwall. Greg and I dated, married, moved to Addison, then Tyler in the meantime. In August of 2006, I was preparing my 5th grade classroom in Tyler before the first day of school. She called to tell me that she was pregnant! I was ecstatic! Then, I jokingly mentioned that I was a couple of days "late", but that it was probably just stress from getting ready for school. I laughed and said, "Wouldn't it be funny if we were BOTH pregnant?". Well, we were. She was due at the end of March, and I was due at the beginning of April. (I was planning on waiting another year or so, but God had better plans!)

Miss Andie Noel was born on March 27th. I went into labor late that night and had Luke on March 28th. CRAZY!

I never expected that we would ever move back to Rockwall. But, God had better plans. I never expected to live on the SAME STREET as Scarlett & Chris, but God had better plans. I never expected to be running partners with Scarlett, but God had better plans. I never expected to be involved in the life group that Chris leads, but God had better plans. I just love the way our lives have paralleled!

Andie & Luke both turned THREE years old in March. Scarlett threw Andie an adorable "Mother Goose" themed birthday party. We were told to come dressed as a character from a Mother Goose nursery rhyme. Luke wanted to be Humpty Dumpty, so Momma had to get a little creative. The result? This:
He looked hilarious! So easy, too - daddy's white t-shirt, markers, safety pins and grocery sacks!

Then, there was Jack. There are so many "Jack" references in Mother Goose rhymes. So, we decided on this:
Clearly, he's not the most cooperative picture-taker sometimes. But, yes, he is Jack be Nimble. I figured just writing it out was safer than giving him a candlestick.

I'm kicking myself for not taking more pictures from her party, because it was CUTE. It's so hard to remember to take lots of pictures when you're so busy chatting and chasing two boys around. And, I didn't even get a picture of Andie, the birthday girl! Here's what I did come up with, though:

Yummy, chocolate marshmallow cupcakes!
Humpty costume stayed in tact until Luke had to teetee.

Scarlett gathering the kiddos for the "Jack & Jill" candy hunt. (They had to go up the hill and fetch candy in their pails.)
He's got his game face on!
Jack Be Nimble was content playing with the plastic egg.
I LOVE IT when he scrunches his nose!
It was such a fun party! So thankful for Sweet Andie and her sweet family!
