- Jack has really slowed down on his weight. At 6 months, he weighed 19 lbs 9 oz. At his 9-month appointment, he only weighed 20 lbs 8 oz. He jumped from the 85th percentile down to the 50th, and his height jumped up from the 37th percentile to the 50th as well. He has evened out!
- He still has gorgeous blue blue eyes, and the whitest blonde hair. I love the contrast between Jack and Luke...they are both BEAUTIFUL BOYS!
- He army crawls like a pro. Seriously, he's so fast! He will get up on all fours and rock for minutes at a time, but he prefers the army crawl over the regular crawl.
- Just this week, Jack pulled up to a standing position in his crib for the first time.
- He knows how to go from laying down to a sitting position. I was impressed the first time I saw his skills in doing this!
- He is so much fun right now! He cracks up if you stick your tongue out at him. His laughs melt my heart because it makes his eyes squint, nose crinkle, and he pushes his head in his chest. I love to hear and see that boy laugh.
- Jack will be TEN months old tomorrow! Where did the time go?!
- He has recently not been satisfied after nursing, and he only nurses for a couple of minutes. When I pump, I don't get near as much as I used to. So, we have started supplementing with some formula, and I am now in the process of weaning him. I know that 10 months was a long time to nurse, but I still didn't feel ready. I guess it's just a huge part of his babyhood that is leaving. I don't feel like he should be 10 months old! I have noticed that he is sleeping better at night and seems happier through the day. I feel bad that he has probably been hungry for a few weeks now. He is still nursing 2 times a day and having one bottle in the afternoon. But, that will soon change to where he's only nursing in the mornings.
- He eats mainly table foods now. We still have a few leftover purees in our freezer that we give him every now and then. But, he prefers to feed himself like a big boy. He likes everything we have given him except avocado. He started shaking his head when I kept trying to give it to him. Stinker.
- He knows how to wave (not consistently yet), and we think he has signed for "more" a few times.
- He says "momma" and "dada", and I have noticed that he consistently says "buh" when Luke is around. Brother, maybe? When we say "Macie", he will search the room, then get really excited when he spots her. (Macie, not so excited to be spotted.)
- His new fascination: light switches.
And, here are some of Jack's latest pictures:
He loves to stand up like a big boy.
