Big Tex

We went to the great State Fair of Texas in October. So crowded, but so much fun. The only fried item I risked eating was the fried frito pie, this year's taste award winner. I waited in line for about 30 minutes for it, and it so wasn't worth it. It was decent, but I would much rather have my homemade turkey frito pie! It was all about the experience! (Although, my tummy didn't agree the next morning!)

By the way, I think it should be completely illegal to charge people as much money as the fair does just for simple things. It was $10 for just Greg and Luke to ride one puny little ride. What in the world??

We met our friends, the Hitchcock's there, and Luke had a blast with one of his favorite buddies, Isabel. (They are exactly one week apart!)
Greg took this picture with Big Tex in the background...love the blue skies!
Then, it was off to the pig races, where they each had a tootsie pop. What a treat! I love how Jack is so fascinated with it that he won't even take his eyes off of it.

Already counting down til fall 2011...
