Just a little update on Baby #3!
I am currently almost 28 weeks, just starting my third trimester! Back in June, my parents came in town from California, and my brother came in from Ft. Worth. We had a sonogram in the morning, and told the sonographer to keep the sex a secret, but to write it down. Throughout the entire sonogram, she kept telling us to close our eyes because the baby was wiggling so much, and she didn't want us to see "something". Based on that, Greg and I had a feeling we knew what the baby was!
Greg asked a random stranger in the parking lot to open our envelope and call a local bakery with "boy" or "girl". We couldn't wait until that afternoon! Here was the cake:
The media crew for the big reveal: My mom was on facetime with my sister, Jason was on video duty and Greg was the photographer.
Luke was more excited than anybody. I was so nervous/excited to cut that cake! I knew it would be exciting to see blue or pink! Win-win!
Starting to cut -
It wasn't as bright as we expected, so Luke had a hard time seeing the color. When he finally saw a pale blue, he announced to everybody, "IT'S A BOY!"
It's hard to tell in the photos, but it was definitely pale blue.
We were so thrilled! It's amazing how many people expected us to be disappointed that we were having another boy. We are anything but disappointed! The responsibility that God has given us to raise another future warrior for Him is humbling and exciting! We love having boys, and are so excited to add another one to our family. It just feels right!
We decided to name him Noah Brooks (although Luke likes to call him YoYo!)
Noah means "rest" and "comfort". We loved this and are praying that he will find rest and comfort only in his Maker. (We almost gave this name to Luke. I have always loved it.)
Brooks obviously means "running water". We love the metaphor of Christ being our Living Water. We also chose Brooks because Brooke is my middle name. I have a feeling he will be a Momma's boy!
Our prayer is that Noah will find rest from the emptiness that this world has to offer, and that he will never thirst, because he has turned to Jesus, our drink offering and Living Water. I also pray that he will see that his purpose on earth is to bring rest and comfort to the hurting and needy, through the Spirit, for His glory!
"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." - Jesus (John 7:37, 38)
We can't wait to meet our sweet Noah right around 11-11-11! We love him already!
