Preschool Rocks!

Yes, it is November. And, yes, I am just now putting up my son's "First Day of School" post. That is a sign of the times, my friends. We are BUSY around here!

Luke started a 2-day preschool at our church. It really is a great program. Besides spending time in his classroom, he is able to have several different classes - music, discovery (science), computer, library and chapel. He loves it. He has also made lots of little friends. We think it's neat to see him make his own friends without meeting them through us. He's saying "Hi!" to people around town that I don't even know! Growing up so fast!

I was really dreading this day, I'm not going to lie. I enjoy my time at home with my kids. He will now be in school the rest of the times that he is at home. That's a crazy thought. However, I was looking forward to my one-on-one time with Jack, which has been so much fun! And, knowing that Luke loves it makes it a lot easier for me. He does tell me every school afternoon that he missed me that day. I have been able to teach him that it's okay to be happy and sad at the same time...happy to be in school, but a little sad to be away from Mommy and Jack for awhile. I told him that I feel the same way when I take him to school. He now knows the word "bittersweet". :-)

Here's the handsome school boy! All ready to go!
Kisses for momma in the parking lot. (Greg went into work late that morning, so he was the photographer.)
"Did I just hear someone say that I'll be the only child for a few hours??".

Walking in...

"Bye, Daddy!"

Being greeted by Mrs. Maurer.
His two sweet teachers, Mrs. Maurer and Mrs. Wheeler. They are so nurturing and wonderful. It is reassuring knowing that he is in such great hands.
He jumped right in there! Such a big boy!
Greg calls this the "walk of shame" picture. Yes, I had massive tears rolling down my cheeks. I'm learning to let go, starting now! (Can you imagine college?!?)
Jack, Greg and I then had a nice breakfast together at Chick-fil-A. I was thankful for Greg being there for some support!

And, unfortunately, with preschool comes viruses! Here is Luke battling a tummy bug a few weeks in!
