- Our internet has been OUT for weeks. We realized it was a problem with the router.
So, we got a new router, which still works only about half of the time. Back to Best Buy we go! Anyone have a good router that they recommend??
- Greg is really enjoying his job and is staying really busy, which is such an answer to prayer. Apparently, Forney is a gold mine for dentistry, because it is growing so quickly and there are so few dentists. He has really been showing good leadership at his office. The hours aren't the best, but I think we've all adjusted and are grateful to see how God has blessed us.
- We joined Lake Pointe Church about a month ago. This is the church that I grew up in since 2nd grade. But, it feels like a different church because of how the church has progressed and stayed relevant with the culture. We love that it is reaching so many from Rockwall to the other side of the world! We are praying about what ministries to help serve in to further immerse ourselves into the church. We love our new life group, too!
- I am currently praying about possible going to Uganda in November with our dear friends, the Barret's, who have started Parental Care Ministries. The events and circumstances leading up to this decision are so clearly from the Lord....that's just another whole post that I can't wait to write!
- My mom is currently speaking at a women's retreat in Delaware. She is flying back to California on Monday, and her plane stops in DFW. We had been wanting to go out to California this spring anyway, so we decided that the boys and I would fly back with my mom so that I could have some help at the airport and on the flight. Then, Greg will come out Thursday evening, and we will stay through that next Monday, the 29th. Yay!! Can't wait!
- Luke will celebrate his (gasp!) 3rd birthday while we are in California! My mom has planned a birthday party with Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. Lucky boy! Then, we will have a very small party/cookout with a few friends when we get back, along with a small celebration with Greg's family on Easter. He better know he is loved!
- Jack is 14.5 months old now! He is turning into a little toddler. He is walking everywhere now. His eyes are the prettiest blue I've ever seen, and he has blonde, curly hair. Yes, I promise he is our son!
- Jack is learning new things and words every day. I love this age. He says hi, bye bye, night night, momma, dada, brother, thank you, doggie, uh oh, hello and I'm sure some other words I've missed. Of course, it's in 14-month-old dialect. My favorite is "Thank you!". Every time we give him something or he gives us something, he says, "Daint dooo!". He is also signing so much. I need to learn more sign language, because he is picking it up quickly. I showed him a star one time and showed him the sign language, and the next day he pointed to the star and was signing it all by himself! I was impressed! He has a fascination with the sky and anything in it. He loves birds, clouds, the sun, the moon, stars, airplanes...everything. The first thing he does when he gets out of the car is look up at the sky. He is PRECIOUS! We love our "Gacky boy", as Luke calls him.
- Jack is just getting over a double ear infection. His left ear got so bad that his ear drum ruptured. Poor little guy. We never really had problems with Luke's ears, but Jack has been a different story. We go in for a follow-up on March 31st, and I think we might be talking about tubes.
- Luke is definitely acting 3. He talks NON-STOP, learns things and remembers thing like a little sponge, and asks a zillion questions. "Why?" "But why?" "Why, Mommy?" We get that question ALL DAY LONG! He is starting to look less like a toddler and more like a little boy. Bittersweet. He will be starting a 2-day preschool at Lake Pointe in the fall. He is ready, but I don't feel ready yet. It hurts my heart to think of him not being with me for 2 days of the week.
- We are moving Luke into the playroom for his birthday. Things weren't working out too well with them sleeping together...they just kept waking each other up. So, we moved Luke's bed into the guest room. We feel like he needs his "space" though. When we tell him to get something from his room, he looks at us like, "Which one?". He sleeps in one, has his clothes and decorations in another and his toys in yet another. We've always said that it is a priority to have a guest room in our house so that guests will feel comfortable and welcome here. So, we will make the playroom Luke's bedroom. We are getting him a twin-sized bed, along with this cute bedding/room decor. He is fascinated with construction right now, so I think he will love it. Our goal is for them to share a room eventually when they are a little bit older.
- My sweet college friend (and forever friend!), Katie, is engaged! She will get married on July 3rd, and she asked Luke to be a ring bearer in her wedding. We are honored to be a part of the celebration. I told her that I can't promise anything except that he will look adorable! We'll get him down the aisle somehow! I'm thrilled for Katie and Wes!
This is all the news I could think of right now. Just a cute finish to this post:
