Bapa knew that Luke loved bubbles, so, of course, he HAD to get a bubble machine, just for Luke. Needless to say, Luke had an awesome time in the "BOBBLES", and he asked for them the whole time he was there. Thanks, Dad, for wanting Luke to have it all. I guess that's what grandpas are for!
Wait for it...
"BOBBLES!"
Signing for "more". Bapa also found a park that was perfect for Luke. Seesters Sliding with the auntie. "GO!"
I love this picture with Aunt Annie. She'll do anything to make him laugh.
Aunt Annie & Bapa seesawing.
Then, Nawnaw joined in the fun. Of course, we had to get pictures of one of Luke's favorite activities: eating.
Somehow, he got away with Mommy's apple.
Bapa hiding the crackers from Luke. Smart boy couldn't be tricked.
Greg and I were able to spend our first night away from Luke. We thought about making it two nights, but we also wanted to be able to spend as much time with the fam as possible. So, we rode the Amtrack to San Diego.
Boarding the train: This was the view for about 90% of the trip. I would highly recommend traveling by train, especially when you get an oceanfront view!
On the map, the trek from the train station to the hotel looked short, but we ended up walking for about 45 minutes. That was a lot for this preggo girl wearing flip flops. :) We intended on taking lots of pictures, but just forgot. We stayed near the "Gaslamp District", ate at some fun restaurants and just enjoyed being away together without parenting duties.
This is our hotel room...it was POSH, and you could see the inside of the Padres stadium from our window.
The next morning, we walked to Seaport Village and enjoyed good food, shopping and views before heading back to see our boy. A Navy ship coming into the port:
Our train ride on the way home:
Oh, and Luke...he didn't even know we were gone. He had a blast with NawNaw, Bapa and Aunt Annie.
Here he is at the train station with Bapa:
Bapa's buddy:
Here they are picking us up from the station. Luke even charmed Mommy with a flower. We were so excited to see him, even though it had just been one night.
Looking for Momma & Daddy: (He was a little scared of the loud train this time.)
Happy Mommy!
Finally, here are some cute pictures with Uncle Billy. Nawnaw taught Luke all kinds of new cars in this book, his new favorite since the trip. He was showing off his new knowledge.
Thanks for a great trip, everyone. I absolutely love seeing Luke interact with all of you. He is one blessed little boy! We miss you tons and can't wait to see you all here at Thanksgiving.
