Not only is it just cool that it's 08-08-08...
Not only is it the first day of the Summer Olympics (which I LOVE)...
Not only are we 3 days away from finding out of Luke will have a little brother or sister...
Not only did we get some much-needed rain...
Not only did my hubby get to come home at 1:00...
Not only did Greg take Luke somewhere for about an hour so that I could just REST...
Not only did we spend a beautiful evening at the pool...
But most importantly...it's my mom's birthday!
I remember so clearly when it was 8-8-88, and my mom was turning 38. I can't believe that was 20 years ago.
I love my mom so much. I would definitely consider her one of my best friends at this point in my life. My love and appreciation of her have increased ten-fold since I became a mom myself. Looking back on the way I was raised and quality time that was invested into each of us really challenges me to be that kind of mom. She was and is definitely a rock in our family. Her wisdom and discernment are amazing. She has given me some much-needed advice with Luke when I ask, and whatever she suggests always seems to work. No wonder she used to teach parenting classes!
Mom, I love you so much and wish more than anything that we could be there with you to celebrate. You are so much fun, and your age only seems to increase your youthfulness. :) I am so blessed to call you "mom"; Greg is so blessed to have you as his mom-in-law; and Luke is incredibly blessed to have a "Naw Naw" that loves him and is so much fun.
You would never guess my parents are grandparents. This is how they spent their day:
Yep...they are spending them weekend at a Bread & Breakfast on the beach, then their Friday at Disneyland. I think this picture is hilarious. They are still such kids.
I know there are a lot of pictures here, but there were too many good ones to choose from. I think they give a good glimpse of the kind of grandma she is!Luke is one day old here. What would I have done without my mom with me during this time??
Cuddling Luke the evening he came home from the hospital.
Naw Naw and Luke - 2 months old
California visit - July 2007
Luke and proud Naw Naw - 5 months old
I've always loved this one.
She has always been able to make him laugh like no other!
Cuddly 15-month-old Luke...Naw Naw loved this.
Happy Birthday, Mom from 3 of your biggest fans. We love you (a bushel and a peck!) :)
