God has really been teaching me a lot this week through my Bible Study book, Keeping the Secrets of Jesus by David & Denise Glenn. Here is a snippet of what I am learning:
"Prayer does not start in the heart of man. Prayer starts in heaven, with the will and purposes of God. As man begins to bow his head in prayer, God allows man to get in on the process for bringing His will down to the earth. As man prays, God's will is done 'on earth as it is in heaven' (Matthew 6:10). When God's will is done on earth, it glorifies God in heaven. So prayer is a circle. It begins in the Father-heart of God, comes down to the earth to accomplish its purpose, and as God's will is done, it brings glory back to Him in heaven."
Wow. What a privilege it is to join in God's Kingdom-work that He is already doing. I am so thankful and humbled that He has put me back in my place. It's not about me...it's all about Him.
