It's Beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS!

Even though we will be in California for Christmas, we still wanted to decorate our house for Luke's first Christmas. Plus, we'll be hosting the Melton's for an early Christmas before our trip.

Greg and I spent the evening on Monday putting lights outside, while Luke was asleep inside (we had the monitor outside). It was COLD that night, which made it more fun!

Last night, we decorated our tree, and Luke was fascinated. Now, of course, he wants to touch and pull down every ornament. We gave him a few minutes of "I-get-to-play-with-something-that-I'm-normally-not-allowed-to" time when we let him play with the silver beads before we put them on the tree. He was so excited...he didn't even know what to do.

On a funny side note, we wanted to get a wreath this year to hang above our mantel, so it needed to be pretty big. Greg knew I was going to look at Hobby Lobby yesterday, so he told me to, "Think Big". At Hobby Lobby, there were normal door-sized wreaths, then GINORMOUS wreaths that were half off. Remembering what Greg had told me, I pushed the cart with one hand and held this 54 inch wreath on the other shoulder (yes, it was almost as big as me), literally knocking things off the shelves as I walked. I even hit a lady with it while I was checking out. At check-out, I realized that I was going to be paying ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for this wreath (AFTER the 50% mark-down). What in the world...I never knew ANY sized wreath would be that expensive. I bought it anyway, thinking that Greg would be proud of my gigantic wreath. (It barely even fit in my Tahoe.) Needless to say, Greg cracked up when he saw the wreath at home, and, no, it didn't even come close to fitting...it's WAY too big. I guess I thought too big, and now I have to "think big" again when I pick out a red bow to go on our new (non-refundable) outdoor wreath on our fence.

I wish I was there to watch him with the new decorations! And I wish I was with you to watch you carry around that wreath! That's hilarious!

I too wanted a really big wreath this year...to put on our chimney on the outside of the house. But I didn't know I would be saving up to buy one...maybe I'll catch one on the after Christmas sales!!!
