Shout out of the Week

Papa (aka...Greg's dad)

I've never seen someone so patient. Now I know where Greg gets it. Also, he constantly sees the good in situations. Greg told me a story about them waiting in a long line to get into the dump to drop a load off a few weeks ago.

Greg: "Man, this is a long line."
Steve: "I'm glad we have a good A/C."

That's just one story. He is ALWAYS like that. You can learn a lot from someone like that. I think it shows his joy in his relationship with the Lord.

He is also a servant. He is the "handyest" (is that a word?) person I know, and he's always willing to go above and beyond to help us out. When we were in California, our backyard flooded. He came by the house, saw the flood, and lo and behold, he happened to have a water pump in the back of his truck. Only Steve Melton would have a water pump ready to use. Needless to say, he saved the day, and the water didn't do too much damage. (Thanks to the help of Susan, too!) He loves to use his power tools. Maybe that's the reason he wants to help so much. :)

It meant so much to me when he prayed with all of us at the hospital whenever I went into labor. Luke has been covered in prayer by him since we told them we were pregnant. That is the greatest gift you can give your grandchild.

Thanks, Papa, for EVERYTHING, especially for your example to Luke of how a godly man lives.

Yes, I can testify that Steve is a very kind, sweet and patient man. And you can tell that Luke loves him! :)
